戏剧节总预告
英院学子在本年级的戏剧节复赛舞台上所展示的独特风采，令人难以忘怀。令学院全体师生期待已久的英语学院2022年“魅力女性”主题戏剧节总决赛将于12月9日（本周五) 13:00 正式拉开帷幕。本次戏剧节展演将采用剧组线下表演、老师及同学线上观演的模式。在决赛的舞台上，我们将欣赏到2020级同学带来的《无足轻重的女人》；2021级同学参演的《小妇人》；2022级同学所演绎的《妇女参政论》；研究生同学为大家带来的话剧《玩偶之家》；以及英院戏剧社重现的经典剧目《华伦夫人的职业》。相信各剧组的精彩表演一定能够带给大家身临其境之感，为每一位观众献上一场精彩绝伦的视觉盛宴。

A Woman Of No Importance
《无足轻重的女人》
依林沃斯公爵看重青年杰拉尔德，想用他当秘书，杰拉尔德的母亲坚决反对但不愿意说明原委，因为她多年前与公爵有旧，后被当作“无足轻重的女人”抛弃，杰拉尔德与公爵实际上是父子关系。直到依林沃斯公爵向杰拉尔德的未婚妻求爱时，母亲才揭露真相，并把那个羞愧交加的父亲作为“无足轻重的男人”赶了出去。
Lord Illingworth took a fancy to Gerald as his secretary. Gerald's mother protested, but would not explain. She once had an affair with the Lord many years ago and had been dismissed as "a woman of no importance". So Illingworth and Gerald were in fact father and son. It was only when Illingworth wooed Gerald's fiancee that her mother suddenly revealed the truth and kicked the ashamed father out as "a man of no importance."

《小妇人》
马奇家族的4个姐妹性格各异，人生追求也不尽相同。正值美国南北战争时期，父亲长年在外，四姐妹和母亲相依为命，度过了吵闹却温馨的少女时光。故事追随这四位女性由女孩成长为小女人的岁月，讲述了她们不羁的爱情经历及她们各自追寻不同理想与归宿的过程。他们的人生充满着爱、幸福、梦想成真的时刻。
The four March sisters have different personalities and pursuits in life. During the American Civil War, their father was away for a long time, and the four sisters and their mother lived together, through the noisy but warm teenage years. The story follows the four women as they grow from girls to young women, and tells the story of their unruly love experiences and their pursuit of different ideals and destinies. Their lives are filled with moments of love, happiness, and dreams coming true.

Suffragette
《妇女参政论者》
上个世纪初英国女性生活在工资剥削，家庭暴力，性侵犯等不公平的阴霾之下。埃米琳·潘科赫斯特成立了以揭露性别歧视、呼吁女性选举权为目标的妇女政治联盟（suffragette），在英国引起了极大轰动。本剧目主要讲述了在埃米琳·潘科赫斯特等女性领袖的带领下，洗衣厂女工们奋起抗议，以暴力方式争取女性权利的故事。
In the early 20th century, the British women were suffering from the exploitation of wages, domestic violence, sexual abuse, etc. Emmeline Pankurst founded a women league called Suffragette, which aimed to reveal the sexism and call for the votes for women, becoming a hit in Britain. It appealed thousands of British women to struggle for their rights and made a great achievement in women cause. This play mainly tells a story of how a group of laundry women fight for women’s suffrage.

《玩偶之家》
《玩偶之家》通过女主人公娜拉与丈夫海尔茂之间由相亲相爱转为决裂的过程，探讨了资产阶级的婚姻问题，暴露了男权社会与妇女解放之间的矛盾冲突，进而向资产阶级社会的宗教、法律、道德提出挑战，激励人们尤其是妇女为挣脱传统观念的束缚，为争取自由平等而斗争。
A Doll's House explores the marital problems of the bourgeoisie through the process that the love between the heroine Nora and her husband Helmer turns from loving to breaking up, exposing the contradictions and conflicts between the patriarchal society and the liberation of women, and then challenging the religion, law and morality of the bourgeois society, encouraging people, especially women, to break free from the shackles of traditional concepts. Fighting for freedom and equality.

《华伦夫人的职业》
曾就读于剑桥大学的独立女性薇薇，得知母亲过去以至现在从事妓院行径以后，虽领悟到了母亲在职业的选择背后有更深刻的原因，但也意识到自己不会选择相同的生活。最后薇薇在极端痛苦之中，离开了母亲，并与自己的男友富兰克，母亲的老朋友克罗夫、普瑞德、赛密尔牧师等人决裂，走上了依靠自己的奋斗的道路。
Vivie, an independent woman who once studied in Cambridge University, knows that her mother was and even now is still engaged in brothels. Although she realizes that there are more profound reasons behind her mother's career choice, she would not choose the same life. In the end, Vivie left her mother in extreme pain, broke with her boyfriend Frank, her mother's old friends Croft, Praed, Reverend Samuel Gardner and embarked on the road of relying on her own struggle.
