Once upon a time, there was a kingdom across the sea,

Maria, the princess, praised as a beauty,

whose hairs red as a shining ruby,

longing for her beloved to marry.

Sadly, a dragon didn’t permit,

evil as the traditional monster is supposed to be,

locked Maria up like a wild beast,

in order to make her not flee.

However, the pitiful princess wanted to be free,

in a silent night like without any notice,

she wrote a letter and grabbed a bottle into to put it,

threw it in the sea, forcefully, hoping someone would see it.

Meanwhile, a carpenter called Stanley,

experiencing the monotonous work repeatedly,

no spare time or chance to release,

dreamed of leaving the distant city.

Maybe opportunities just belong to,

these people who dare challenge themselves bravely,

one day’s morning, he wandered aimlessly,

found the bottle and that letter occasionally.

Here was what the letter conveyed:

If you see these words, the person who is pleased,

I am locked in a tower of almost 30 feet,

with sealed windows and terrible scenery.

My heart breaks and sorrow pervades,

I am so afraid of being jailed eternally,

Oh, good man, no matter who you are,

please come and rescue me from this brick!

Stanley saw this and thought carefully,

an unprecedented idea revealed suddenly,

“A poor girl is waiting for help sincerely,

somebody should save her with mercy”.

Now that the goal appeared obvious,

then it was time to put it into practice.

Stanley prepared several wooden plates,

then resembled them into a boat across the sea.

After that, he managed to make everything adequate:

food, water, a long rope and also, that letter.

So, at a sunny and calm day,

Stanley sailed to the mysterious place.

The first two days passed safely,

while a horrible storm emerged on the third,

though really scared and feeling unease,

Stanley still tried to fight against such a difficulty.

Tying a rope on the edge of the boat tightly,

shook up and down like a jellyfish,

after a long time of severe competition,

the storm finally faded out like a breeze.

So far Stanley had gone on the sea,

blue was what he only had seen.

Luckily, there was land to step on with his feet,

just as he almost lost his patience.

As soon as Stanley landed like a leopard,

he stared carefully at surrounded things,

not only to figure out where he was,

but to find that remarkable building.

Walked through a wide path,

feeling fear but also curious,

“Is here where I looking for,

or just a hoax played by God?”

From his own perspective,

he didn’t know how to choose,

but if we look further,

it is easy to know which he suits.

As the tradition regulated before,

Stanley found the tower without the door,

estimated at 30 feet tall,

no way to climb up, just to fall.

Shook his head slightly,

tried to find another, easier way,

just at the minute he left,

Something dropped and caught his sight.

What he saw was a delicate hairpin,

attached a paper to its surface,

“on the back, near the bottom,

there’s the road which you traced.”

“On the back, near the bottom?”

Stanley contemplated for a while,

immediately, his brain blowing a storm,

“Does that refer to the wall, back there?”

Got the idea, rushed to the rear,

as the paper read, there was something unusual,

a strange area, which covered by some wax,

pulling it, a stair soon came through.

Stanley slowly climbed the stairs,

the weird surroundings made him confused,

“there is absolutely nothing dangerous,

too easy but also too weird.”

A sense of vigilance came to his mind,

the air seemed to gradually freeze,

he held the rope tightly in his hands,

ensuring his life’s extension.

Up the stairs, seeing the princess,

Stanley saluted with politeness.

“Dear princess, no time to waste,

Run quickly and do not hesitate!”

To Stanley's great surprise,

The princess laughed and rudely said:

“Why would I need to run away?

look carefully, you bloody waste!”

Suddenly, the princess faded away,

Then a huge monster broke the alley,

“Where is the princess and who are you?”

Said Stanley with a strong sense of terror

“I am Demacalous, the ruler of this country,

how dare you come and challenge my authority!

As for the princess, that’s not your business,

Because you will be destroyed like a bug!”

The dragon stepped heavily on the ground,

shaking everything and swinging around,

its wings were hard like a diamond,

A slight blow even knocked Stanley down.

However, Stanley would not give in so easily,

he quickly threw the rope to the dragon’s feet,

after rushed over and tripped it,

Stanley finally got himself safe.

Unfortunately, the dragon was so irritated,

What it wanted now was Stanley’s death!

Charging like a crazy cheetah,

and prepared to tear Stanley apart.

Just before Stanley would be slashed,

a sharp voice stroke to Demacalous:

“Stop, you evil and cunning monster!

What you did made you like a pervert!”

Stanley looked towards the place,

It was Maria who was holding a knife,

brave and no fright,

like a queen rather than a little ted.

Now the trend seemed to change,

as the dragon was pissed off again,

Oh, it really had a bad temper,

should it find a doctor?

Demacalous roared in a horrible voice,

With its wings splashed to the sky:

“As you two teased me like a fool,

now I shall burn you into wood!”

The dragon scratched its claws ,

caught these two to make them fall,

The power was so strong,

even creating a crack in the ground.

At the moment they would soon be killed,

Maria threw the knife to Stanley:

“My hero, thrust it in its neck,

and take it to the heck!”

Stanley, the little carpenter,

threw the knife with his full power,

one hit on bull’s eye precisely,

the vile monster sooner dropped quickly.

Stanley jumped to the dragon’s back,

then threw the rope to Maria’s hands,

held Maria in his arms like a bird,

and jumped down rapidly together.

The dragon was killed eventually,

But Stanley still felt a little dizzy.

“Why is this monster so weak?

And how can you succeed to flee?”

Maria smiled with elegance:

“My hero, it is easy to explain,

I keep waiting for a chance,

though it locked me up just for fun.

But I still can’t imagine the reason,

Why it ignored my absence?

Then I realize the essence,

Which is really of great dependence.

Every powerful thing has a common weak point,

that is their attitude of arrogance.

Now that You saved me and the whole country,

Let’s begin the ceremony at once!”

Of course, the ending is happy and funny,

two protagonists got married successfully,

The whole nation was immersed in sweetness,

and it lasted continuously for many centuries.

Overall, it is an interesting story,

rather than a depressing tragedy.

Life must go on,

a never ending story.
