Color of Time

On a distant planet, time is not measured by ticking or a beating second hand but is revealed in a riot of colors in the world. Here, dawn may be a murmur of orange, midday a burning red, and late night a serene blue meditation. Colors defines the rhythm of people's lives, influences their mood for the day, and helps them perceive the world.

There is a young painter named Amy on this planet, who has been colorblind since birth, and in her world, there is only silent gray, so she has to navigate in a colorless world. In such a colorful world, there is not a single person who does not feel sympathy for her. Amy, on the other hand, is eager to understand the "color of time" that people around her constantly refer to.

Though Amy cannot see color, her other senses are unusually acute. She can recognize the texture of time through sound, for example, the wind is light and fresh in the morning, and heavy and gentle at night. Flavors and aromas also suggest to her the character of the different moments – the dew in the morning with its fresh, grassy scent, and the air at night are mixed with the aroma of flowers and the old wood. Living in a colorless world, Amy gradually learned to use the details of her other senses to perceive the flow of time.

Amy uses lines and shapes in her paintings to convey a sense of time, even though her viewers cannot discern colors in them that are visible to the average person. However, her paintings always strike a deep chord. Viewers always have a special experience when viewing Amy's paintings - as if they can hear the quiet pace of time and feel it passing by invisibly.

Legend has it that on this planet, there exists a secret gem that can grant people the ability to perceive the color of time. After hearing this, Amy set out on a journey to find this gem, hoping that it will give her the ability to perceive this colorful world. She traveled through winding mountain paths, across endless seas of sand, visited the oldest libraries, and searched for a gem that only existed in the elders' oral legend.

In the course of her travels, however, she saw a wide variety of beauty beyond the color of time - the song of birds in the morning, the wind of midday, the quiet at dusk and the star of night. Each of these non-colorful and beautiful experiences made Amy understand that the world is just as gorgeous without color. She began to understand that the color of time was not something that existed on the surface as seen by the eye, but felt by the mind.

Eventually, Amy realized that there is no gem, what is important is the understanding and perception of the world in her heart. When she returns and begins to create new paintings, she incorporates her travel experiences and her own understanding of time into her paintings. Her paintings no longer need color because she makes every moment come to life with her heart, and the viewer also feels the colorless beauty of time through her paintings.

Amy's paintings push people to consider, guiding them to explore their own sense of time, rather than only relying on color. Through her eyes, people learn to perceive the world in a new way; as a result, they appreciate every precious moment that cannot be described in color. The inhabitants of this planet are slowly beginning to appreciate colorless time as well, realizing that the beauty of time exists not only in color, but also in every movement and feeling of their own, just like Amy's paintings, which are colorless but touch everyone deeply.（张艺馨）
