特殊的星期天
一九六零年初夏的一个星期天，雷锋肚子疼得很厉害，他来到团部卫生连开了些药。
开药回来后，见一个建筑工地上正热火朝天地进行施工，原来是给本溪路小学盖大楼，雷锋听到广播里说砖供应不上了，让加油，雷锋找工地的管理员爷爷以军装作借条借了一辆小车，加入到运砖的行列中去。
广播员小姐得知情况去采访他，问他为什么来，叫什么，哪个部队的。他说：“我是为社会主义建设添砖加瓦，我和大家一样，只要尽了自己的一点义务，也算是有一份力尽一份力。”没有留下自己的姓名就接着干活去了。
广播员广播了有位解放军战士在休息日来帮忙的这件事，工人们受到鼓舞，一个个都更卖力的干起来，还与雷锋比赛。结果那天下午提前了两个小时完成了当天的任务。
他干完活还了车取了军装不留姓名就走了，其实管理员爷爷看到雷锋的军装里夹了一封他替王大力捎的一封信，爷爷当雷锋是王大力，引起了场误会。

Special Sunday
On a Sunday in early summer of 1960, Lei Feng was suffering from severe stomach pain and went to the regimental health unit to get some medicine. Upon his return, he noticed fervent construction activities at a building site, where they were constructing a new building for Benxi Road Elementary School. Hearing from the broadcast that there was an urgent need for bricks, Lei Feng, with his military uniform as collateral, borrowed a wheelbarrow from an elderly administrator at the site and joined the effort to transport bricks.
When the announcer learned about this and went to interview him, asking his name and which unit he belonged to, he responded, "I am here to contribute my share to the socialist construction, just like everyone else. To do my bit is all I aim for." Without leaving his name, he continued working. Upon learning of a soldier from the People's Liberation Army volunteering during his day off, the announcer shared this story over the air, inspiring all workers to work even harder, competing with Lei Feng. As a result, that afternoon, they completed their daily tasks two hours ahead of schedule.
After finishing his work, Lei Feng returned the wheelbarrow and retrieved his military uniform without revealing his identity. However, the administrator later noticed a letter Lei Feng had carried on behalf of Wang Dali tucked inside his uniform, leading to a misunderstanding where the administrator mistook Lei Feng for Wang Dali.

雷锋修桥
有一次，同志们发现雷锋总是闷闷不乐。连长关切地问他：“雷锋同志，是不是遇到什么困难了？告诉组织，组织会帮你的！”雷锋回答道：“连长，赵家村的桥塌了，村民们没法过河，我很担心他们。”连长笑着说：“好嘛！军民一家亲，人民军队为人民办事，我给你半个月的假，你去给赵家村架一座桥！”
雷锋来到赵家村，和老村长说起修桥的事。老村长无奈地说：“我们也想修桥啊，可没有石头，没有木头，也没有人会修桥啊！”雷锋拍拍胸脯坚定地说：“毛主席教导我们：人民群众的力量是无穷的。我们一定能修好桥。”
当天，雷锋就来到河边，脱掉鞋子，挽起裤腿，走进冰冷刺骨的河水中摸石头，把一块块石头堆到河边。当时已经是11月，河水冰冷。村民们看到这一幕深受感动，老支书第一个跳下河，也去摸石头。没多久，村里的年轻小伙子们都纷纷下河摸石头。仅仅三天，修桥所需的石头就准备好了。
这时，邻村的张石匠带着一群人，推着装满木头的车赶来了。张石匠紧握着雷锋的手，激动地说：“解放军同志，太感谢你们了，我是个石匠，会修桥，想来做点力所能及的事。这些木头是我们村的人上山砍来的，大家都是亲人啊。”
就这样，雷锋带领着村民们，一个星期就把桥修好了。

Lei Feng Repairs the Bridge
Once, comrades noticed that Lei Feng seemed gloomy all the time. The company commander asked him with concern, "Comrade Lei Feng, have you encountered any difficulties? Tell the organization, and it will help you!" Lei Feng replied, "Company commander, the bridge in Zhaojia Village has collapsed, and the villagers can't cross the river. I'll give you a half - month leave to build a bridge for Zhaojia Village!"
Lei Feng went to Zhaojia Village and talked to the old village head about building the bridge. The old village head said helplessly, "We also want to repair the bridge, but we have no stones, no wood, and no one who knows how to build a bridge!" Lei Feng patted his chest and said firmly, "Chairman Mao taught us that the power of the people is boundless. We can definitely repair the bridge."
On the same day, Lei Feng went to the riverside, took off his shoes, rolled up his trouser legs, and walked into the bitterly cold river to feel for stones, piling them up by the riverbank. It was already November, and the river water was freezing cold. The villagers were deeply touched when they saw this. The old branch secretary was the first to jump into the river and also started feeling for stones. Before long, the young men in the village all jumped into the river to look for stones. In just three days, the stones needed for bridge - building were ready.
At this time, Zhang, a stonemason from the neighboring village, came with a group of people, pushing carts loaded with wood. Zhang firmly held Comrade Lei Feng's hand and said excitedly, "Comrades of the People's Liberation Army, thank you so much. I'm a stonemason and know how to build bridges. I came to do what I can. These woods were cut by the people in our village on the mountain. We are all family!"
In this way, led by Lei Feng, the villagers repaired the bridge in just one week.
